Cricket for the Blind is a version of the sports of cricket adapted for blind and partially sighted players. It is being governed by the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) since 1996. So far, five ODI and two T20 world cups for the blind have been held.

    When it begins

    Cricket for the Blind was invented in Melbourne in 1922 by two blind factory workers who improvised the game using a tin can containing rocks. The Victorian Blind Cricket Association was founded shortly after, in 1922, and the first sports ground and Club House for blind cricket was built at Kooyong, Melbourne in 1928.

    1ST blind cricket world cup (1998)
    First world cup was held in New Delhi, India. South Africa defeated Pakistan in the final while India and Australia were the two Semi-Finalists.
    2ND Blind Cricket World Cup (2002)
    Second Blind Cricket World Cup was held in Chennai, India in December. Pakistan defeated South Africa in the final match.
    3RD Blind Cricket World Cup (2006)
    Third Blind Cricket World Cup was held in Islamabad, Pakistan. Pakistan defeated India in the final and became the Blind World Cup cricket champions for 2nd time.
    4TH Blind Cricket World Cup (2014)
    Forth Blind Cricket World Cup was held in South Africa. India defeated Pakistan in the final and became the Blind World Cup cricket champion for the 1st time.
    5TH Blind Cricket World Cup (2018)

    Fifth Blind Cricket World Cup was held in Dubai, UAE. India defeated Pakistan in the final and became the Blind World Cup cricket champion for the 2nd time.
